TRX-4 set the standard for off-road versatility with its radical design and rugged durability. The TRX-4 chassis kit combines the same innovative features as the RTR vehicle with the fun and excitement of building your own kit. Build your own portal axles, high/low range transmission, and remote-locking differentials. All the parts are organized neatly in labeled bags along with waterproof electronics and pre-assembled shocks and suspension links. A fully illustrated color manual makes the kit as much fun to construct as it is to take off-road.

Easy Assembly Instructions

The TRX-4 Chassis Kit includes a full-color instruction book that’s easy to follow and fun to use. Each section corresponds to a labeled bag with step-by-step assembly instructions. True-to-scale part illustrations and ruler charts make it easy to differentiate between different screws, bearings, and gears.

The TRX-4 Chassis Kit arrives ready to assemble with a full-color instruction guide, TQi 4-channel 2.4 GHz radio system, and complete waterproof electronics including steering, range-change and diff lock servos, XL-5HV ESC, and Titan 21T motor. Key parts like shocks and suspension links come pre-assembled to make building easy and fun.

Clipless Body Mounting

Clipless body mounting makes it easy to customize your TRX-4 kit with any accessory Traxxas 312 mm wheelbase body (sold separately). The hidden latching system provides clean, flowing lines for maximum scale realism. On the trail the clipless body holds tight when you need it, but releases in just seconds to access the chassis.

Features:

Heavy Duty Frame Rails - Thick 1.5mm steel ladder frame with moulded composite cross memebers provides excellent torsional rigidity to resist even the worst chassis twisting articulation. This rigid backbone allows the suspension to do the work it was designed to do, eliminating chassis flex and providing precise wheel placement when navigating technical terrain.

High/Low Range Transmission - When the trail gets tough use the button on your transmitter to shift to low range for incredible 4 wheel drive pulling torque. Use high range for trail driving.

Canyon Trail 1.9in Tyres - The 1.9in Canyon trail tyres and tuned foam inserts are super soft and grippy to deliver superior bite on rocky surfaces with convincing scale realism. 12mm steel hexes drive the wheels.

Aluminium GTS Shocks - Super smooth and efficient oil filled coil-over GTS shocks provide excellent damping performance and feature threaded shock bodies, an o-ring cap seal and dual x-ring shaft seals.

Portal Axles - Build your own game changing portal axles with the TRX-4 Chassis Kit. These innovative axles lift the chassis at the wheels for bigger center pumpkin ground clearance. In order to achive the same clearance with straight axles (and not get stuck) the tyres would need to be over an inch taller than the TRX-4s. Portal axles allow TRX-4 to straddle rougher terrain and larger boulders without getting hung up. Portal axles also allow for gear reduction at the wheels and Traxxas's design provides at least twice the amount of gear reduction compared to non portalled cars. The power of the Titan 550 size motor is translated into straight, powerful forward motion.

Scale Details - TRX-4s bumpers provide rugged protection from rough terrain and feature authentic recovery D-rings. The front bumper is designed to be compatible with many popular off road accessories.

Titan 21T 550 size Brushed Motor - Torque rules the trail and nothing provides excellent torque like the right brushed motor. The Titan motor supplied in the Chassis Kit pumps out huge torque to get up and over almost any obstacle and an integrated cooling fan keeps the temps down for extended run times.

11.1V Compatible ESC - The XL-5HV electronic speed control brings 3S lipo compatability and an additional 2 driving modes over other Traxxas ESCs. The Trail profile facilitates smooth driving for most of your RC adventures whilst a full Crawl profile introduces Hill Hold and instant reverse for very technical driving. Whilst TRX-4 is capable of running a 3S Lipo battery your diffs and driveshafts will thank you if you stick to 2S Lipo, after all, the extra wheel speed offered by 3S Lipo is not going to help you get up and over.

T-Lock Remote Locking Differentials - Lock and unlock your diffs from the radio with a top mounted 3 position switch. Lock front and back or unlock front and back or have the front only locked.

Traxxas 2075X 9kg Metal Gear Servo - A full metal gear servo with 9kg of torque provides rock sold steering performace and steel gear durability through even the roughest terrain.

Steep Approach Angles - Where the front of the front tyres and the lower edge of the front bumper line up is a 64 degree angle. This steep approach angle allows you to tackle big obstacles head on without getting hung up, whilst the front motor design biases weight forwards for superior climbing ability.

Large Diameter Links - Large diameter steel links and heavy duty, extra wide rod ends keep the suspension fimly mounted and hardened steel u-joints are ultra reliable even through the roughest terrain.

Waterproof Electronics - Traxxas is reknown for the level of waterproofing in all its vehicles and TRX-4 is no exception. O-ring sealed receiver boxes, ESCs and servos all come with the highest level of water protection reliably concievable. (Waterproof means water-proof, not submersible)

Inner Fenders - Detailed inner fenders feature the clipless body mounting system and integrate with the floor pan and shock towers helping to keep out mud, rocks and twigs from the chassis. The inner fenders come with removeable blank plates for the installation of the optional LED Rock Light Kit (sold separately).

Cruise Control - Planning on a trail walk? Set your TRX-4 for Cruise Control and all you have to do is steer it whilst Cruise Control takes over the throttle. Whilst in Cruise Control the Multifunction knob allows for a fine degree of control over the speed.

Steering Angle - With the front diff unlocked TRX-4 has a 45 degree steering angle to allow you to negotiate around even the tightest bends with ease. This means no reversing manoeuvres in tight spaces.

Rubber Sealed Bearings and Black Oxide Coated Hardware - Rubber sealed bearings throughout will help keep your bearings smooth and friction free keeping out grit and mud, improving your runtime and speed. Black Oxide coated internal-hex hardware is more rust resistant and has gives a professional looking quality finish to TRX-4.
