Air radios, flight radios or stick radios are most commonly used for rc vehicles that fly. RC planes, helis and drones all are suitable to use with an air radio.

Back in the day people used this type of radio for RC cars and indeed, an air radio offers a much finer degree of control which is useful with an RC rock crawler. These are also a better radio for the Tamiya 1:14 scale Tractor Trucks.
